This spot overlooks the town of Caryville, Interstate 75, and a wide swath of Powell Valley.
Devil's Racetrack gets its name from a string of rock outcroppings that lead up to the ridge line.
A longer version of this hike can be made by starting at a parking lot on Bruce Gap Road in Cove Lake State Park and hiking north on the Cumberland Trail. This trailhead is 1.5 miles from the Shelton Hollow Road trailhead.
